About the Trail
Completed in 2006, the Osage Prairie Trail extends 14.5 miles from Tulsa, OK to Skiatook, OK. The trail is maintained by three entities. The City of Tulsa Public Works Dept. maintains the trail beginning at N. Greenwood Ave. & E. Independence Pl. to 56th St. North. The Tulsa County Parks & Recreation Department maintains the trail from 56th St. North to the county line (6 miles). The City of Skiatook maintains the trail from the county boundary until the trail terminus in Skiatook. It serves as a bicycle commuter link to the Oklahoma State University – Tulsa Campus, downtown Tulsa and connects with other smaller trails in the Tulsa area. Trail construction was funded by the Tulsa County Vision 2025 sales tax for regional economic development and capital improvements, and an Oklahoma Trails Grant.
