Student Opportunities

 

The following is a general list of PR student opportunities in and out of the building throughout the school year – there are always many more opportunities out there, engage with a team member and we will work alongside you until a genuine connection/opportunity has been established with your proclaimed interests.

Glass Blowing- glass blowing class for groups of students in the fall students will be selected based on interest.
Garden Deva- metal art classes for students in the late fall early winter students will be selected based on interest.
Piano- Weekly piano class taught at PR by Dr. Anna Norberg.
Yoga- weekly classes offered at PR
The Collective- weekly art classes Thursdays from 4-7pm in October and November offered through Philbrook located at the downtown gallery.
Mock Trial- Weekly mock trial group/team sessions - starts mid September going through late February culminating a State wide competition in front of real Oklahoma Judges.
Nutrition Class- Weekly nutrition and healthy eating/cooking class offered to all classes at PR
Parenting/Trauma/Life Skills/Substance Abuse Group- Weekly groups to be facilitated by LIFE staff with PR students
Radio Broadcasting- Record and perform a radio broadcast @ TCC.
OK2Grow- Tours of various manufacturing sector factories and job opportunities including APSCO, Fab Lab, TD Williamson, M&M MAnufacturing,
Chandler Park- Trips to Chandler Park to work out and play basketball or exploring the outdoors.
Girl Power Group- Various opportunities for girls to hear guest speakers and participate in other fun and enriching experiences.
Museum Tours- Philbrook, Gilcrease, Sherman Miller Jewish Museum, Crystal Bridges and many more.
Student Plays Written, produced and performed by students at PR and with the support of our community Partners.
Weight Lifting- Lifting weights and exercising various times during the day
Tutoring- Volunteers from TU are available at various times to help w/ tutoring, mock interview, etc.
Clothesline Project- Along w/ OU volunteers decorate T-shirts to raise awareness for intimate partner violence
Technology Student Association- professionals working with students on different technology projects and prep work for nationwide competitions
GSA Gay Straight Alliance- engaging students to support GLBTQ students through advocacy and awareness
Reading Partners- Reading tutoring with 1st & 2nd grade students at Sequoyah elementary Tuesdays & Wednesdays
Manic Pixie Studios- Scheduled painting & art opportunities
Workforce- Employment and education assistance, job and college tours, resume building, etc.
LTAB- (Louder Than a Bomb) Spoken word poetry class weekly.
Caliope Youth Circus- Circus, trapeze, dance, magic, and performance art
Tulsa Airport- Behind the scenes tour of the Tulsa Airport and opportunity for internship
